Tidepooling tours

Many tidepool creatures are incredibly well camouflaged, blending seamlessly into the rocks, seaweed and sand. Spotting them often takes a trained eye.

Luckily our experienced guide Seth has those trained eyes and knows the best spots to find whatever you're looking for in the tidepools.

See colorful sea stars, seabirds, nudibranchs, anemones, crabs and multitude of other animals of the tidepools of the north coast near the cities of Seaside, Cannon Beach and Manzanita.

Tour Locations

The gravel shore just north of the towns of Neahkahnie and Manzanita makes for a unique set of tide pools and intertidal rocks covered in sea stars, anemones and other marine life. The beach also supposedly was the place where gold was buried by a Spanish galleon though no evidence of that gold has been found. The area is a bit hard to walk through I would not recommend tidepooling in this area if your mobility is limited.

Indian Beach in Ecola State park lies in between the towns of Seaside and Cannon Beach with what I would say are the best tidepools on the North Coast of Oregon. They contain a multitude of sea stars, sponges, nudibranchs and other intertidal animals along with a large collection of seabirds on the nearby offshore rocks. The area also contains a sea cave accessible during particularly low tides.

Just a short walk from downtown Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock is home to an impressive tidepool ecosystem at its base and one of Oregon's largest seabird colonies. While it can become crowded later in the afternoon visiting during low tide offers an unique opportunity to observe the marine life and nesting seabirds.
